I am some what of a newbie, and I am trying to install the Quickstart complete with the sample data. i followed the steps I found online. I transferred all the Quickstart folder files to my Public_HTML. After it completes, instead of allowing me to go through the setup, it tells me i must remove the installation folder. Once i rename the installation folder I can see it is available in my template selection, but it does not have any of the sample data present. Any help would be appreciated. I’m not sure if I am missing a step or if this is issue is being caused by my hosting provider.

July 28, 2011 at 10:32 pm #403502Let’s just make sure you are doing this correctly. Are you unzipping all the files then uploading them to a blank folder on your host?
July 29, 2011 at 2:15 am #403519I was uploading directly to the main public_html root folder on Siteground. I would want the template to be the first initial thing seen not something like http://www.lumadigital/jasulfur . As a newbie, maybe I am missing something or not fully grasping the concept. Should i try to upload to the seperate folder and try to install. Once it’s installed in the folder, how would i make it the main root install?

July 29, 2011 at 6:54 am #403555It is ok to put it there as long as there is already nothing else in that folder. The only reasons you would see this message is if there is already a configuration.php file in that folder.
July 30, 2011 at 2:52 am #403691There was a current configuration.php. Should i have erased that and then did the file upload or should I just start from the seperate folder as you mentioned before?
