I get the following message when I use the configuration panel in Joomla 1.5 and try to install the joomla ja-slideshow for nerine.
XML Parsing Error at 87:377. Error 23: EntityRef: expecting ‘;’
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a problem with this working with version 1.5
Does anyone know how to get the module installed manually to be compatible with version 1.5 in legacy mode? The template says it is compatible in legacy mode. I’d just like to be able to get it to work as promised.

August 19, 2007 at 5:57 pm #227518You need to update the xml document after ‘&’ to be ‘&’ The XML parser should tell you where you need to add the ‘&’. After you have fixed the xml document, zip the contents again and try to install it.

Just to help others.
On line 87 of the mod_jaslideshow.xml file…
All instances of & must be changed to &September 10, 2007 at 4:41 pm #229207I found a couple of items during the 1.5 install that may help others. Thought I would note them here.
Assigning the Position is done in ‘Edit Module’. This confused me at first because there is no ‘slideshow’ in the pulldown. Then I realized you can enter ‘slideshow’ into the selection.
Once your seeing the image in the right place, you’ll probably get a Javascript error telling you in cannot locate the jaSlideShow Class.
I found that 1.5 seems to prepend another directory in the modules dir. The html file wants to find it in /modules/ja_slideshow/ja-slideshow.js but the installer addes another directory:
/modules/mod_slideshow/ja_slideshow/ja-slideshow.jsI moved the directory and imgetting the slideshow now.
onward…
