When I am adding articles to appear on the front page of the site everything works fine when I have just the article, but when I add a read more seperator it breaks and the right column and aligns the right column modules underneath the center content column.

Yes, may be the problem is from the content of artcile, you shoud put the introtext inside P tag and put <hr id=”system-readmore”> below this P tag.

I have something similar in an issue. My readmore button shows but it doesnt show the nice little button but instead shows a text version of it.

How do i get the read more to be a button like in the demo?

Dear jbetincort!

Please try to check configuration of the menu which relate to those articles, and try to check configuration of each articles,

In the configuration, it has the “Readmore” link parameter to disable or enable the link
