Can you explain in details how do you add the extra pictures for module header? Have you read the Userguide? I guess you need to change the position of the module header.

-This one is pretty easy, I installed the template and there it was.. The obvious question I was
searching for the answer to is how to remove it.

Just unpublish the JA Header modules.

If you want to publish it again, do not forget to set the position to header as shown in this picture:
