March 3, 2011 at 9:05 pm #160992Hi,
I’m getting no file specified for child menu items in the top menu at http://www.phillycityandsuburbs.com. This has happened since I installed the template (quickstart package) but I figured I just needed to create my content and make the menu links. So I created FAQs as a top menu item with First Time Homebuyers as a child linked as an article. Then I thought to look at modules and plugins to see if I’m missing anything, and found the plug in page in the backend is missing. I get this error: 500- Layout default not found. Any ideas?
Are these issues related?

March 4, 2011 at 7:50 am #379593Now, you access the hosting and find the htaccess.txt , remame it to “.htaccess”, Then come to administrator >> Global Configuration => you select the Yes Option for the Use Apache mod_rewrite paramater.

March 4, 2011 at 11:20 pm #379711Thanks very much, that did indeed solve the menu link problem. But I’m still not able to get to my plugin manager. Any ideas about that?

March 5, 2011 at 3:52 am #379749Hello mate!
How did you install the site?
Have you used the quickstart zip file? and upload this file to your host
or did you upload file by file ?When i accessed the plugin manager , i saw that:
Joomla!
500 – An error has occurred.Layout default not found
=> administrator/component/com_plugins folder is having same problems, may be files were in-corrupted
Now:
1) you get the com_plugins folder to upgrade for your folder
2) you upload the quickstart zip file to your host, and then up zip => re-configure the database information, something else in the configuration.php, this will replace current project folder. -
