JA Pollux

JA Pollux - 1^st JATC template for Nov 06 is released. JoomlArt is proud to bring to our club members another highly accessible Joomla design. With a simple and grey color, JA Pollux is recommended for a portal site with large content. As with all other JA templates, the accessibility matters of the templates are of high attention. The essence of accessibility is to put the content of a web page first and the design second, therefore the "Content First" CSS technique is introduced in this Joomla! template; if you view source codes of the JA Pollux demo site, you will see that the main body texts are loaded first instead of left column like other templates. This not only means that the content is easier to view with all types of browsers but also helps with search engine rankings. Moreover, five built-in menu options are revamped and all menu items now have their own title tag: <Title="Menu name">^New! Especially, the Horizontal JA Dropline menu ^Updated! has been totally rewritten so that users can navigate more comfortably since its first appearance in JA Kruger. All of these improvements are simply part of our effort to enhance web accessibility for your Joomla! sites.

Advertising with Joomla is now even more interesting when the JA CoolAds module is provided with JA Pollux. Your text ads, banner, or even a rotation of newsflash modules can be delivered to your reader in a smart animation with full configuration via Admin (show/hide "close - do not show again" buttons, animation speed, first load delay...).

With JA Pollux, the Site Tools and Colors Switcher have been revamped using both PHP (server side) and Javascript (client/browser side) to enhance the accessibility and improve the performance for browsers. This technique is explained in full details in template tutorials.

Installation:

Please download, unzip and read carefully the userguide.html file for installation and configuration guides. The template_css.css and index.php file are well-commented for the ease of customization.

Configuration:

All of options in this template are configurable via the index.php file and can be done from your Joomla! Admin CP. Go to Template Manager >> Edit HTML of JA Pollux template to make changes to these options. Please download the Template User Guide at JA Pollux download section for advanced template configuration.
