I cant make menus or Socialize template work right

Frustrated. I uploaded the Socialize template assuming it is only for the JomSocial portion of our web site but I am having nothing but trouble figuring our how to make it work, or the menu system to work right. There must be better documentation or instructional videos somewhere but I have spent hours making menu changes but nothing changes. Without documentation that explains the steps for a novice JomSocial user I am getting nowhere. Help?

Socialize is a Joomla template that fully support JomSocial.
With template you also need to install T3 plugin as the template is based on T3 framework.
All the menu settings in the template same like any T3 template. you can use this documentation to setup the menu.
If you notice any issue, just let me know i will help you.

Do not forget to install T3 plugin from download page.

Ninja So then Socialize is a full Joomla template, which I do not want? Or will T3 just manage the Jomsocial component, so I don't mess with the rest of the settings, templates, pages, etc of our site?
Do I download the T3 framework plugin from the following page? http://www.t3-framework.org/downloads.html
(Note: I don't NEED Socialize I just downloaded it hopwing it would solve our non-working Communkity menu issues.)

My direct problem has been how to get JomSocial's menu's to look and work properly? I cannot find good documentation and need assistance. When clicking any of the links they refer to the T3 framework as you mentioned but I am still attaching screenshots in case just getting the T3 plugin doesn't provide all my answers.

Screenshot #1 is of the main JomSocial page on our support site. This is only accessible to registered users, but as you can see the menu does not drop down to show how to edit your profile or any other menu settings I have been trying to create there. And the little home button won't go anywhere but to the error about T3.

Screenshot #2 is the little dropdown I tried to setup with SC Login so when someone logs in they have a full dropdown offering them places they can go to make use of the community. However all I can get to show up there is "profile" or to "change the profile picture."

Alternatively, If you are looking forward to have layout revamp with new look and feel for specifically Jomsocial with ease, You can always install any of theme accordingly and install/assign it as default in Admin --> Component --> Jomsocial --> Configuration > Templates

No I removed Socialize, at least for now, so I can get the help in getting normal Jomsocial menu and user editing system working properly first.

Once logged in you can go to https://www.removingchains.org/chat-rooms/rc-community to access the community and see what we have.

aman204 Oh no. OK That was Akeeba Admin Tools protecting our site from what appeared to be a bad login. So I have white listed your domains name range of 106.0.0.0-106.0.255.255 so that the login and password I gave you can login as an administrator from India for now.

Regarding the toolbar menu items please check your site have JomSocial toolbar menu on the backend to display it like in the jomsocial demo that is using socialize template.

#1 IP Address
Your first IP address was 106.0.58.214, and now this last one was 103.41.26.141. I have down white listed the following IP address ranges
103.41.0.0-103.41.255.255
106.0.0.0-106.0.255.255
but I need to know if there could be any more OR if you can be sure you use one of the ones from the white listed ranges that I mentioned.

#2 JomSocial Toolbar
I checked in the backend of Joomla and found that we had js-toolar_4.6.1 installed so I upgraded it to 4.6.2 just now. Is that what you were referring to? If so I saw no changed after the upgrade.

Toolbar is the Jomsocial toolbar menu that must be present to show other menu items in Jomsocial.

Also the community page is not using socialize template.

You can check and share the issue you have with template.

Thank you! I know that "the community page is not using socialize template because I removed Socialize until I got the rest of this figured out. So, to add Socialize ONLY for the JomSocial Community area and not the entire website I believe you meant that I have to upload it again AND upload the T3 framework plugin.

If the above is correct what else do I need to do so the Community will change to be using Socialize?

Socialize is Joomla template and apply on the whole menu where you will assign it.
If you want to use apply a different theme to JomSocial only. You can check the themes demo here http://demo.jomsocial.com and download them from download page.
To install a theme JS Flat : download the zip file > open Jomsoical > configuration > Templates > upload the package and set it default.

Excellent! I downloaded Flat and made it the one that we will use.
Do you think you can help me identify why SC Login will not login from the front end? The standard Joomla one on the top of this page works https://www.removingchains.org/resources/write-for-hope-project
But the SC LOgin one is the one we prefer but myself as an already registered user cannot login using it. Users can only register using it.

SC Login is 3rd party login module, you need to report the issue to extension provider for its working issues.
We do not provide support for 3rd party extensions.

The only one I seem to have now is how I get people to be able to logout from the JomSocial Community pages on our site. There is no clear logout method I see, and I am having no success adding the Joomla login to that same page, it just doesn't want to show. There is a small circle on the upper left of the JomSocial menu which seems like it could be an off button, but it doesn't really say that is what it is. If that is it can I add a little popup that shows up when someone hovers over it? OR how can I get the Joomla login to actually show up on the Community pages?

You can also publish Core Joomla login module to any of module position available in template and assign it for specific page where Jomsocial menu type is assigned.

The aforesaid steps would show login form with form fields and logout tab when user is "logged in"
