I run JomSocial 4.5 on live site. To try out upgrade procedure, I clooned site to test site (is identical to live site). On test site I upgraded to 4.5.1 by downloading latest component and install it over old component. Is this the right way to do?
Upgrade seems fine on test site, except chat function is not working anymore. When I click in testsite in toolbar on inbox-icon, the progress indicator shows up, but nothing else happens. I checked in backend to see if chatbar-plugin is enabled, that is correct. On JomSocial backend, I enabled chat function. No difference, not working.
Because of this reason, I cannot upgrade live site, because that also will be broken after upgrade. What is wrong?
In the past you did some fixing in chat-source (see: https://www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/38956-again-problems-with-chat-function?limitstart=0), because there where issues before. Does this prevent upgrade of chat?
How to proceed, I want to upgrade to new version on live site but don't want to loose chat function altogether.
Please keep in mind that:
1) test-site is very slow because it is only test machine, please be patient
2) I don't have a ssl-certificate for test site, so please ignore ssl-certificate-warning and go on with "insecure site".
3) credentials are the same for backend, frontend and ftp, both on live- and test-site
