I recently purchased a Joomla template from joomlaart.com called "Findus" for my project, believing it would be a perfect fit. However, my experience with this purchase has left me utterly frustrated and questioning the legitimacy of this service.

Upon paying $89 for a yearly subscription to access the template, I eagerly began planning how to integrate it into my existing website. As I proceeded to update the template and its extensions, I encountered a significant roadblock. Joomlaart's own extensions could not be updated directly from Joomla, requiring additional payments. This tactic reeks of a blatant cash grab.

Attempting to resolve this issue, I visited Joomlaart's website to download the necessary extension, only to find that none of the download buttons were functional. After reaching out to support for clarification, I was informed that I would need to purchase another membership for extensions, costing an additional $55. This demand for more money after an initial substantial payment is beyond unreasonable.

In all my years of purchasing Joomla templates, I have never encountered such deceitful practices. Despite requesting a refund for this appalling experience, I have been met with silence. Rest assured, I will be sharing this experience across the internet, including Joomla forums and review websites, to warn others about the deceptive practices of Joomlaart.

Sorry for the inconvenience that you've encountered. There seems to be a misunderstanding as your JA Pro membership is currently active, granting you access to the JA Findus template and its complementary extensions.

Regarding updating our extensions, please note that you cannot use Joomla Update for this purpose. We have our own extension, JA Extension Manager, designed specifically for updating our products.

Here are two ways you can update JA templates and extensions:

From your website admin back-end: Download and install our JA Extension Manager and then follow the update guide to update easily.
Manual update: Download and install the extensions manually from JA Findus page.

Good Morning, There is no confusion, I bought a Template that was not updated, I tried to update it and it does not take you to free extensions. joomlart wants me to purchase another subscription of $55.00 . And that is why you are 100% correct, one can not use Joomla Update because you first want to sell another package under https://www.joomlart.com/pricing Extensions. I requested a refund because of this bad practice. Nowhere on the template website or the installation procedure does it state that alternative extensions must be bought. Since when do one pay for bug fixes which most updates usually are?

I encountered a problem with the purchased template, as it wasn't updated and the attempts to update it lead to prompts for additional paid extensions. joomlart insists on a new $55.00 subscription, a practice I find unjust. I've requested a refund due to undisclosed additional costs and the need to purchase extensions for basic functionality. This goes against the standard practice of not charging for bug fixes typically included in updates.

I strongly encourage people to look for a different route than joomlart.

May I know which specific extension you had trouble updating?
The complimentary extensions are all available for download on the JA Findus page as mentioned above. As a JA PRO user, you should be able to download from there with no problem.

If you look at those files, they are last updated 2022, as mentioned, as soon as you install the quick install there are updates to be done, when you do the updates you need to purchase the extension package at $55. Joomla 5 is 2023 October, so those updates are most probably for Joomla 3/4
