about layout not found

The problem here is that you rename purity_iii template to have a copy of it: Purity_iii_copy but in template manager, you kept settings the original 'purity_iii' as default template so it caused the error.

I set the copy template as default template and disabled the original template in Extensions > Manage and it's working now.

Hi! I am building a site using Purity III. The magazine layout, blog layout and corporate layout of your demo is exactly what I want. However, I have difficulty to build them. Can you just put all the article, category, menu items, and all the things of your demo site to my backend, so that I can change the content myself?

You don't need to care about the Joomla version as installing this quickstart package will be the same as installing a Joomla package, it's for a new site in your local host. Just follow the instruction screen to install this package, there will be a step so you can decide to install sample data or not. It's the same with installing a Joomla package.
