While posting a photo or video from some mobile devices I am getting error

The users that are reffering the problem are saying that the issue is coming either using wi-fi or mobile data connection, so there in no connectivity issue something else is happening. While you are doing the testing you are using a photo already saved in your device or a newly taken in that moment?

I used the photo already taken, as Jomsocial does not offer a live camera option, it ask the user to upload the photos from system.

Pankaj the issue is not resolved, as I wrote previously the connection of the user who faces the issue is good, either is using wi-fi or mobile data. What else can be produce unspecified error?

I can not see the error, i tried it on mobile and wifi too. As i am not able to replicate the same issue, its not from site otherwise it will appear for all users not only few. You can ask the user to update the browser to latest version or check in other devices as its something connection error on his device.

Hi,

while your are trying to post a photo, you are pressing on camera there you need to "select photo to upload" and it goes to your photo collection where there is the option of the Camera where you can take a new photo and upload it.

you have to choose photos that already taken in phone, the action of camera is offered by the phone operating system and during this process jomsocial has nothing to do to complete operation, it might be memory processing error in phone that click photo first and then failed to upload at the same time.
I am afraid its not something that can be fixed via Jomsocial as this operation is done by phone system.

For sure it is something related to the device but what? What can I check? it might be an access rights issue? What else might cause that error?

I managed to remotely have access to the mobile which have the issue and I found that the camera resolution was 13MP and the default photo resolution was high, I set resolution to lower value and photo was uploaded as well. I know JomSocial allows max 16MB video capacity. Is there something for the photos?

But sometimes if Phone memory is low (during processing) of image it may stuck again.

it seems not to be a file size issue because if file size exceeds max size it throws a related message, so it is something else (maybe the image dimensions??? is there a limit on dimensions???) thus the error is Unspecified. Is there someone to tell us what might be the issue in order to fix it? It is very crucial for us

as suggested in last post, its something when phone take the photo and if photo is bigger its not processing the image, its not issue from Jomsocial, and Jomsocial can not fix the mobile memory issue to processing the image.
you can choose the image and upload there will be no issue.

more thatn one users saying that a month ago with the same mobile device could upload images without any intervention on the camera resolution / default dimensions of the photo.

Are you saying that there is no solution for that issue?

This issue is not from Jomsocial to fix, so its hard to say what need to fix in that specific mobile, as this is not happening in all phones also the processing of memory is not controlled by site, its phone feature.

for your information, when photo is processed in the device using build in image processor, photo is uploaded as well.

Can we force an automatic image processing in the photo?

Sorry its not something to fix in Jomsocial, as Jomsocial uploading the images fine, its processing of the phone camera.

Let me know if you need any other help as this issue is not in Jomsocial to give any fix.

Let me ask you something, is this the first time that you are facing such issue in JomSocial? No one faced same issue in the past? If yes it would occured in the future for sure and I think you need to have a solution. Uploading photos and videos from mobile devices is the major functionality of JomSocial, if would not work it would be a MAJOR issue for anyone and it would affects JomSocial reputation.

Any way it is an unresolved issue and I would like to know the root cause of the problem in order to try to find a solution.

And yes it might not be related to JomSocial but it runs through JomSocial uploading mechanism.

This is not issue from Jomsocial. you can increase the size of photo and it uploaded fine without problem.
I am afraid its processing system of Phone when you take photo first instead of the upload action.
