Purity III Sidebar Rendering and Placement Issues with Responsive turned on

Hi There - I'm an unpaid volunteer managing a number of websites for small non-profit organizations. 3 of them use Purity III.

Recent upgrades of the Purity III template (to 1.2.2), T3 infrastructure (to 2.7.1), and Joomla (to 3.8.8) have caused a bug to appear with the rendering of the sidebars and main body when "Responsive" is turned on. When it's off with a fixed with the problem does not occur.

With it on, the sidebar-2 (left sidebar) disappears, sidebar-1 (right sidebar) is rendered way down on the page by the end of the main central section of the page, and the central section doesn't wrap where it should and flow off the end of the window. I've verified that this happens in the latest version of Chrome and Edge. Firefox seems OK (but I haven't fully checked it on on Firefox).

All CSS is as distributed and unmodified.

Any ideas what's going on and if we can get Responsive working soon?

Are you able to enable the breaking layout and I can look at the styling?
I think I know the problem but need to see it
