Can AdAgency display video ads?

Thanks for your reply - sorry, I did not see it until today.

Per your previous suggestion, I used the HTML5 ads to create a Zone for a video ad. I uploaded a .mov file to the media folder. I specified the URL as the /image/video/nameoffile.mov I am getting a blank box instead of the video. See the attached screen grab showing the empty box.

If I create a text ad and enter your above code (with my own links) instead, then does Joomla require a player of some sort, such as AllVideos?

Pankaj,

New Ad > Properties > Body has max 250 characters. The code provided does not fit in this box.

Also, under Managers > Zones > Edit zone, there is a Supported Type called "text ad" but no sub-category "Transition." Did you mean Special Banners-Transition?

I was able to get a video to display both in the HTML5 and Text Ad types. They have player controls, which disappear immediately and do not allow the user to stop or replay the video, and there is no control for expanding the video. Currently, the video displays very small, 150x84 size, which I specified because the Zone is in a sidebar.

You mentioned that "Adagency does not include any player, it depends on the ad code you will use on your site." What do you mean by "ad code"? Do you mean a player plugin? I want to know if I need to install something else.

The site does not currently use one of the common player plugins like AllVideos, etc.

Hi,

I made a test with video from this post, I created on our development site a new text ad with that video content and in front-end if mouse is over the ad, I can see the video controls.
I attached a print screen with what I see.

I need your site access in order to check the issue on your site and find a solution for this.

Because the site is under development, I have been asked not to provide access to any 3rd parties. You could help by answering a few questions.

Questions:

Is your example video ad set to autoplay? We want to play multiple video ads, one after the other, which will be effective only if they autoplay.
Where are the video controls (play, pause, expand) set up? When I hover on our video ad, the video controls do not appear. I see them only for 1 second just as the ad cycles to play/replay. If I click on the ad, it simply opens the link associated with the ad.
Which type of ad did you create - HTML5 or Text/Transition (as suggested by Pankaj)?
Does the link "Video ad title" change when the next video ad displays?
Does your site have a video player plugin installed? Where did you specify those controls that I see?

Also, please provide the HTML code that you used to create your example.

For 1 and 2 question, the video is not related to ad agency, it depends on your video code if it has option to show them.
The videos are played via the Iframe code, It depends on the setting you of the ifrmae code, like youtube videos has option to enable/disable autoplay.
If you want more videos, you can create multiple ads.

HTML 5 ads are shown via the HTML 5 Ad URL You need to put the HTML 5 ad URL in html5 ads.
Video ad title change if there is a complete new ad.
There is no video player it depends on your ad code.

Ad Agency support the ad code to display on site, most of the ads the image ads or you can add your own ad code in text ad to get some custom ads, the code can be 3rd party or your own.
There is no special ad type for video ad.

I don't understand - what do you mean by "your ad code"? Do you mean HTML?

On our site we have uploaded video to the media folder, and we are not using a YouTube link.

Is the HTML code used by Alindinca, above, displaying a YouTube video? This might explain why it has controls and our video does not.

In your code example from a few days ago, you provided a screen grab that showed adding some HTML to the Text Ad type under the Properties Tab, not the HTML5 ad type. The Body field on the Text Ad form allows only 250 characters and your example did not fit in the field when I tried it, so I had to remove some parameters.

I tried using both the HTML5 ad type and the Text/Transition type because you mentioned both. The ad did appear for both ad types, but again, the controls were not displaying correctly in either one.

You mention iFrames. I do not see how iFrame code is controlled on any of the forms. Where can I find that, and would this affect the display of player controls?

Agency does not offer any video controls, its purely depend on the video script you will add in the text ad.

Guru? Did you mean Ad Agency Pro?

I already know how to play a local video on a page in HTML5. I was asking how I get a video to play with AdAgency Pro, where the video has some player controls. It sounds like your product doesn't really do that, but only lets someone put a video link in a box.

I did see the picture of the example code that you are showing me. I think it is the same info you posted earlier. It looks like the video link is to a site called adspeed.com, which is an ad server. I'm sure their site provides its own player controls along with their link. I will not be using anything like that service.

My issue is that when I do the conventional HTML5 video code, it does not look right on the page, as I said earlier.

The danger with increasing the text ad size is that it would be increased for all users.

Also -- if I want a user to enter their own video ad, this process could be too complicated for them, since not everybody knows HTML5.

I suggest that your team consider creating a form that lets the user upload a video like they do on sites like YouTube where it does not require a user to type in HTML code. Most of our users will not have that skill.

That will allow use to add the video from local, Youtube, Vimeo via the link. and local

Thanks for raising a ticket with your development team.
The Admin must be able to control whether a user can upload a video file, or not (and allow only links to Youtube, Vimeo, etc).
If users can upload video, the Admin must be able to limit the file size, video dimensions, etc.

Need a way for the video ad to be shown in a thumbnail size, for example in a narrow sidebar.
Need a way to display the full size video, for example via clicking a "full-screen-mode" button or opening into a modal window.

However if you bought a package of ads you can submit new ad.
The max size of video limit will be added for local videos . Most of video provider show the option for full screen video already and local html player too has this option.
