What are steps to upgrade Ad AgencyPro from old version to new version?

Hi There,

Currently i am using version 5.0.5 and new version available is V 6.0.16 for Ad Agency Pro. So i want to upgrade it to latest version, can you please let me know what are steps to upgrade Ad AgencyPro from old version to new version?

And if i do upgrade, will i lost all current data which are zones, packages and ads?

Update should be quite simple, you back up your site then install the latest files we provide at Download Section

Hi, i updated it to version 6.0 but i lost data of Impressions, Clicks and CTR of Ads. See below screenshot.

Sorry the issue you faced. It seems something went wrong during the updates.
First i suggest you to restore the site backup so that the live site has functional site. Now take backup of site and make a replica site, install adagency this site, either on localhost or if you have staging site on server.
Perform the updates step by step to latest versions.
If you will get same issue, Kindly edit fields in the first post of site and submit the site super user login with FTP details and PHP my admin access, we will debug the problem and help you to fix it.

Ninja sent the FTP, Site Admin & Database info but you have to give me your IP for you to be able to access the database.

Hi,

You should install the latest version like a normal Joomla extension install. Upload the package, click on install and then wait for all AdAgency installation, after install, there are few steps that AdAgency must done for migrate statistics from the old database table to the new one.

Hello moderators,

We've been testing it several times. After upgrading, the data are lost (impressions, clicks & ctr) http://prntscr.com/k7l00i

We noticed our table ad_agency_stat size is almost 500Mb and almost 10Millions rows/records on it. I'm not sure if that's causing it.

We tried compressing data based on this article https://adagency.ijoomla.com/blog/entry/compressing but I'm not sure how long does it take to finish. We never compress it before. Any idea how we can do this?

Ninja I already sent you the database information but you have to give me your IP address to add it on our remotesql. You can use any 3rd party software like heidisql.

I just checked the issue on your site. I can see number of clicks and impressions for ads from your print screen. Also, seems that you don not have installed the latest version. The latest version is 6.0.19 and your installed version is 5.0.5.

alindinca Yes there are clicks and impressions because the version is still old. If we upgrade that into 6.0.16 the clicks will be lost. The reason why we restore that old version because we want you to test that environment.

Can you please do the upgrade yourself and see what is happening wrong?

Hi Mohammad,

Look like because the version difference which is big, there are many releases between them. Also, like you said, there are so many records in the database, you said something about 10 millions rows... because of that, the migration script which is doing tables reconversion is not more working.
It may be a way by deleting very old records from database and try to migrate with less records. And of course, the worse scenario is to make the upgrade with losing data. If you delay the upgrade and more versions with be released, then will be much harder to go to the latest version.

alindinca If the version has a big difference then why did Nic tell us that upgrading won't lose data. Yes the records is almost 10 millions rows. I'm hoping there's a way to fix this without deleting old records.

Can you please try upgrading it fully? Do what you need to do to fix it please. Maybe you need to upgrade one small version at a time till the latest version? We'd like you to upgrade it on our dev environment (uat.muslimlink.ca), and once done we'll do the upgrade on our live environment.

And Nic said what I've said also at first when somebody ask for migrate, it should work but looks like when there are millions records is not working! really, we never had such amount of data to test the migrate.
