Cant send email from form contact.!

I see this error in the console tab of browser after selecting the send copy option: http://prntscr.com/kybvis

I also try to use default template of Joomla (Protostar) on that contact page but the same issue happens. It means that there is something wrong caused by 3rd party extension on your site or from server side.

Try to disable any 3rd party extension on your site first and also contact your hosting provider for help on this.

What kind of third party ext. could it be ? the only add-on that i have installed is the JCE Editor and the video youtube plug-in allvideo from joomlaworks. i do use it on all my joomla website with no problem.

and, for the hosting provider, i have a reseller package that has all of the joomla website, and no one has this problem! Could it be because it's on a temporary link : http://67.23.254.61/~martialt/magie instead of the original and existing domain name with the actual web site ?

lafetech Hi. Please rise a level of error showing to maximum, we need to know what error is being triggered that the blank screen is shown. For me it looks like a problem with PHP version, a missing function or wrong version of it. The error message may tell us more, so please also check error logs.

Hi,

Kindly check my previous reply, I tested on your site with default contact form + default Joomla template and the same issue happens. That means there must be something wrong with Joomla on your site or hosting. I suggest you to disable any 3rd party extension installed on your site and contact your host for help.

Hello Sanguaros, You were half right.! 🙂

The joomla PHP ver. was on 5.6.38. and this was borderline for joomla. So i was able to upgrade to 7.2 and after some test, we are know able to receive the normal email from the contact form. BUT, if we still click into the "send a copy" box.. it still gives me a blank page with no code in the source-view.. and no entering email..

So i have disabled it for now, but this option is still needed but we still want to use this option when we will make a go-live next week. can you recheck this problem again ?.

Kindly configure the reCaptcha plugin properly following documentation here which would enable us to review the contact form functionality as being quoted above. Ref: Screenshot which shows that reCaptcha isnt properly configured

I tried to create a new menu item for contact and see the same issue with default Joomla template (Protostar) when selecting option to send a copy to submitter. If you don't use any 3rd party extension, there must be something with Joomla you're using. Joomla 3.9 will be released soon, you can consider to upgrade it later.

i am using the joomla 3.8.12, PHP 7.2 and the Ja Decor quick start that was provided from you guys. nothing else.!

lafetech As suggested by @saguaros as the issue still persists with Default Joomla template and this being core Joomla feature, You may kindly wait for Joomla 3.9 release and update your Joomla version thereon after taking backup of your site when the same has been released. Probably, this may sort the relative bug being mentioned

Hi Aman, question: if all my joomla templates (installed from zero or by quick start) for my ~ 50 customers ares on 3.8.12, with PHP 7.2, and has no problem with the feature "send a copy" in the contact module.! why does this one ?..

lafetech You may also consider reinstalling Joomla core files for the specific site by going to Components >>> Joomla update >>> check for updates >>> reinstall Joomla core files in admin backend

There could be possibility that certain files during installation of Joomla could have been corrupted, in this particular case, and that refreshing/reloading the Joomla core files may correct the problem.

Would suggest to take backup of your site before performing aforesaid steps, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c
