OK, hang in there with this - I've just been setting up Guru Pro for a new site (not yet launched), and have been firing back and forth between my collaborator/partner and some of the tutors whose courses will be among the first to appear at launch. Some are questions, with a genuine request for knowledge, while some are questions that might be closer to wishlist items, and yet others are almost certainly pure wishlist items. Apologies for this 🙂

Is it possible to rename students and/or teachers as something else? In setting up, some of the "teachers" have asked if they could be referred to as a "tutor" instead - is this possible?
On the Courses page, the Pricing Tab remains marked with a Dollar symbol - should this not automatically change to the chosen currency's symbol, e.g. EURO, GBP, Yen, etc? If not, how can this be changed?
The dimensions of the cover/avatars images used for courses are given quite specifically (cover: 1200px x 300px; Avatar: 350px x 200px) yet as often as not, cropping occurs, or worse, over-stretching (which occurs when there is only a single course in a Category, and it fills the entire width of the page). Is this a template issue, or one that can/does occur in the normal run of Guru usage regardless of template used (for the record, I'm using JoomlArt Educatsy, chosen specifically for compatibility with Guru). Is it due to the resizing of the course containers without the images being set to cover/contain? Can it be prevented, or is the solution to pick the best look of a bad bunch after messing around with column settings, etc (which are moot, really, given that there are countless screen dimension variants through which the site will be viewed)?
When specifying that the number of students should not appear, all that actually stops appearing is the number - the word "students" remains (on the displayed courses within a category - set up to use Mini Profile rather than tree, obviously). How can this be removed/prevented from appearing?
On the Teacher's Profile on the Courses Teacher TAB, all the options - Email, Web, Blog, Twitter, etc - appear, regardless of whether they have been given or not. This is in contrast to the actual Teacher page which removes any that are unfilled. Additionally, if the Twitter is not specified, on the Teacher Tab of a course it links to Twitter.com. Have I missed something, or was this an oversight in development?
This is one from out of left field (or wherever): the commission system is very good - clear and easy to set up, etc. However, what this (and just about every other software that sells things online) does is assume that there is a single proprietor, thus a single account into which the money goes after the Teachers receive their commission. In my case, there are two proprietors, myself and a partner. It would be nice if, just once, there was a software that catered for this and delivered the money according to an agreed and settable precentage between partners. Which also leads to my next one:
The commission system is great (it really is!) But: what happens when two teachers collaborate on production/delivery of a course? We haven't arrived at that point yet, but two of our tutors are discussing such a collaboration. Does the system allow for this? If so, where and how? An extension of this question is: how do you sort out a course that features lessons by multiple tutors? The lessons inherit ownership from the assigned course creator. Again, it would be good to be able to decide on percentage payments in advance.

For example:

Tutors are paid 80% of Listed price per course - this is the Total Payment to Tutors. The remaining 20% is the Total Payment to School.
There are 6 tutors, each supplying lessons. It would be simple to assume that each receives 16.66%. However, one of the 6 tutors supplies a complete module of 5 lessons, while the other module features 1 lesson from each tutor.
Therefore, the "main" tutor should receive 50% from the Total Payment to Tutors, while each of the other tutors receives 10% of the Total Payment to Tutors.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the remaining 20% of the Listed price (the Total Payment to School) should be divided equally between the two proprietors.

This is but one of many possible scenarios. There could at least be some "standard" settings to deal with such a thing (Guru counts lessons allocated to each tutor, divides the commission by the number of lessons, allocates that amount times the number of lessons each tutor contributed, etc)

I think that's all for now. This is just what I've discovered/noticed while working on setting up for the first time, plus a mixture of my own wishlist coupled with wishes based on feedback from tutors and my partner.
