I would like to hide the 'name' field during registration. I understand that this is required by the Joomla core but have read on the Jomsocial forums (https://www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/33419-edit-register-form) that this can be accomplished by having the 'name' field autofilled with the 'username' value.

I understand that I need to override the file at: ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/register/base.php

I imagine I need to change this:

<div class="joms-form__group">
		<span><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_NAME'); ?> <span class="joms-required">*</span></span>
		<input type="text" name="jsname" value="<?php echo $data['html_field']['jsname']; ?>" class="joms-input"
				data-required="true">
</div>

To this:

        <div class="joms-form__group">
            <span><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_NAME'); ?> <span class="joms-required">*</span></span>
            <input type="text" name="jsname" value="<?php echo $data['html_field']['**jsusernname**']; ?>" class="joms-input"
                data-required="true">
        </div>

Am I correct and if so how do I then go about hiding the actual 'name' field?

Many thanks
