You can try to switch default template to a standard template of Joomla like Beez / Protostar and see how it goes. If the problem still persists, then there is something wrong with Joomla version your site is using.

Finally I found out that it was the plugin "user – k2" which caused that issue. I disabled this plugin and now I can login in.
