Hi, I’m facing a problem which probably has a simple solution; please bear with me.

I’m using Virtuemart with Xenia and everytime I upload a product image, I can’t see it on the site itself. It turns out that the permission isn’t set and so, I have to go into the directory via FTP and set the permission so that it can be seen.

how can I make Joomla automatically set the correct permission to an uploaded image?

Virtuemart handles its own images. Try setting the permissions on the Components > com_virtuemart > shop_image > product and resized folders to 755 via ftp.
