I am trying to modify Puresite to show the blog on the home page so far without success.

Hi

From your template manager – go to PROFILES tab you will see a profile named Home , it has the Hide main content block feature set to yes and it is valid for your home page – set it to No and assign as menu item type K2 Categories at your Home menu item
