    When entering a link to a RSS-feed, the 1.5-version only displays a linkt to a Vietnameese site: http://vnexpress.net/gl/khoa-hoc/moi-truong/2011/04/tiet-kiem-nang-luong-de-bao-ve-moi-truong/

    Doesn’t matter if I input google or yahoo news. Always the same link coming up each time

    Hi,

    Open module/mod_janewsticker/helper.php on line 175, find following code:

    $options['rssUrl'] = "http://vnexpress.net/rss/gl/khoa-hoc.rss";
    and remove it.

    I removed this line as you suggested and am still having the same issue. Any other thoughts??

    Nevermind sorry.. Had to clear all the caches and it worked.

    Kind of a weird error to have in the module. Would probably be a good thing to fix for future releases.

    Just in case anyone else reads this post, the module still does the same thing in the JA_Seleni template as of 1/17/12, so it probably hasn’t been fixed in any template. You can fix the problem by removing the code above from the file (approx line 363), or commenting it out in case you are uncomfortable removing code. You can also hard code your RSS link by replacing the URL; http://vnexpress.net/rss/gl/khoa-hoc.rss with your own URL. You’ll just have to change the URL in the file instead of in the module parameters if you ever want to change it in the future.
