For template updates The team is working on updates for our templates for J3.8.1, pls follow our blog post for update news.
Do not update your template to 3.8.1 and wait for official template update.

Joomla!’s version is 3.8.1…

I mean to do not update Joomla 3.8.1 as template is not ready for it
and wait for template update.

I think that blank page stopped after disabling the JS/CSS compression option.

In that case, kindly restore the site back up to the site will work again,
also, you can share the error details with us that you are getting with Purity iii latest version on Joomla3.8.1 so i can send this concern team and they will check it for updates.

Unfortunately I cannot do that. I must wait for the template update.
The error is mentioned above.

VirtualAlloc() failed: [0x00000008] Not enough storage is available to process this command.
VirtualFree() failed: [0x000001e7] Attempt to access invalid address.

After some hours, I get white pages (error 500) and I have to restart Apache.

I think the issue has stopped after disabling the JS/CSS compression option.

Kindly increase the memory limits and max execution time from php configurations of server
Also, share the URL of the site where the error is showing and a temp super user details.
If your server limits are lower it can be issue.

i have not found any error related to template .while to restore site backup if you have and ask your hosting provider to increase the limit so you will not face the memory issue

Always take backup of site before update Joomla.
