Masthead issue with article image (again)

Issue with masthead replacing article image is back again. Please go to https://www.gordonsbay.travel on the homepage and scroll down to About Gordon's Bay where you will see 4 articles from the same category.
On some (like the first) the article image shows up (click to article) and on the next article the article image is gone and replaced by default text from the masthead. You will see that the whole template is disrupted if you scroll down.
This is driving me crazy by now because it happens randomly regardless if cache is on or off.

Try this one; for example test the article " Gordon's Bay - Heart of the Cape Golf" and you will see no full image when you click on the article on the homepage.
Now change the category from that article to "Explore" , clear cache and click on menu item Explore.
Bingo, image is back again. You already know?

Hi,

Module JA Masthead is working fine with Joomla System Cache.
And it seems there's problem with SH404SEF.

If you turn off
Enable URL optimization
Enable remote configuration
Activate security functions

The module will work normally.

Dev team will try to figure it if there some way to make it compatible with Sh404SEF component.

You could temporary disable the options in Sh404SEF component if you want.

Mo0nlight Do you have any idea of the impact is if you switch URL optimization off? We are in the middle of promoting the website to get businesses listed and I have communicated URL's in newsletters that are not working anymore? What about redirects?
Please fix this ASAP or I have to take the website off-line, find another template that does the job because masthead is a dominant part of this template. I already had to use custom.css to fix another issue with masthead and another issue with caching turned off or on. Now compatibility with SH404SEF has become an issue is really the last one I can handle.
As I stated earlier, it must be something with the code running for masthead because changing the category of an article and using the menu to list it from the directory shows the article plus image correctly. Read my earlier comments.
This indicates that the script of masthead responds different on using a module "Articles - Category" than listing the same article from a menu.
It is unacceptable to turn URL optimization off. I will turn it on again. You can only do this while you are testing but turn it on again once you are done.

Let me give another tip. I just switched SH404SEF on again and switched off the standard joomla caching.
Lot's of 404 so I thought what could have caused this and I remembered that I had to switch System - Page Cache on in order to resolve an earlier issue with masthead. So now I switched System - Page Cache off and SEF is working again and the issue with image in the article is gone .....
So my conclusion is that masthead for whatever reason does not work properly with System - Page Cache.

Just tested and previous issue is back if I switch System - Page Cache off which resolves this issue :-(
There is an issue with masthead and the System - Page Cache plugin.

You can keep using the website for testing purposes but please turn both caching in joomla configuration and system plugin off when you are done and clear cache. This way I can continue and everything works as it should without caching but I need caching to work with masthead.

Maybe SH404SEF build the link wrong somewhere.
Just purge all the link and SH404 will build the link again.

Mo0nlight That is exactly what I have been doing a dozen times, without result. Looks like it is working again but I want to test this thoroughly for a few days. I will make a backup first and restore the other one to see if I can replicate this. Thanks so far!

Mo0nlight It works now but I am unable to reproduce this solution on the back up I made prior to this version on the 11th of September. Purging the SEF URLS from SH404SEF does not resolve the issue there even if I empty all the caching, even in my Chrome browser. There must be something else that you have changed or even a setting somewhere. Only thing I noticed is that Akeeba was installed probably to make a backup for yourself and that the setting in SH404SEF/configuration/advanced/activate_url_cache was set to "no".
I even removed SH404SEF from the 11 Sep version to see if that resolved something but it did not.
Please explain what you have done so I can restore my latest production version, apply the changes and see if that resolves the issue?

Installed Akeeba will not relate to the error at all. just installed to take backup to make sure nothing go wrong.

All i did was switch cache on/off
Purge sh404SEF.
Switch on/off SH404 options.
- Enable URL optimization
- Enable remote configuration
- Activate security functions

if there a version JA Masthead error with Joomla cache without SH404SEF installed.

Mo0nlight Morning, I will restore the backup from 11th again and so the same steps as instructed.

Mo0nlight Ok, I finally found the issue. Only turn off "Enable remote configuration" in SH404SEF and the images show up again. Rest is not needed except to clear the cache. Turning it on again does bring the issue back so that is OK.
I think this should be in the manual / documentation to save others what I have gone through. Maybe you should contact the developer of SH404SEF what this feature is actually doing?
