Jomsocial Upgrade

Hello there. Have fews question to ask about the Jomsocial. I have got Jomsocial 4.3.1 and is running on Joomla 3.7.0. I have been experiencing some difficulties when come to update the joomla to a new version and all of the sudden the costumer profile editing stop working showing error. And when it is come to mail setting for contacts on global configuration again show an error (I am guessing for outdate joomla Not sure) and also I want the menu on socialize template either the main menu and side menu to stick on, never move along when you scroll up or down. I have been told to sort all this problem out I need to upgrade to a new version of Jomsocial and also the Joomla. I have not problem into upgrade to new version, but my question is, will those problem I have mention above be sort once I upgrade? And the most importante thing is, My website is up running with signed up costumer, what going to happen when I upgrade? will they loose the accounts? And last but not least, with a new jomsocial is the any way that adding picture is a must on registration? And have the upload video issue been sort out on this new version? Kindly make update step by step to each version as there are DB changes in the Jomsocial for Message and new features.
