logo too big

I have no mobile logo set. The logo is far too big. I've tried reducing the size of the image itself to no avail. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on this issue. I have never had this issue before across two sites yet suddenly when I tried changing the logo it's too big. I've tried going back to the old logo but now that one's oversized as well. it's also jumbling around my menu for some reason.

Update:
I've managed to shrink the logo down a bit using

.navbar-brand.logo-image img { width: 300px; }

but now there seems to be this invisible border around it pushing all the other bits of the website away leaving massive gaps that weren't there before. I know it's not a cropping issue because that logo is cropped within a few milimetres

Another update:
I think it must have been a cropping issue because I've just used the original image with no reductions and reduced it using the same code.
Apologies for clogging the forum and I hope this is helpful to anybody with a similar issue :3
