While I am not as business dependent on Ad Agency Pro, I do want to see it pathed forward, because I do want to integrate it into my business model. It's strong Joomla integration fits for where I want to develop over the next 10 or so years, so I feel like this tool can be an invaluable pillar for that.
That being said, I do understand and appreciate the challenges of development, and the need for that development to pay off in the long term.
I set up a Joonla 3.4 instance to test the software, and I liked what I found. But I am not maintaining a separate, depreciated instance of Joomla just to accommodate this plug in. The Developer knows what their current customer base is for the project, and I feel like that have a bit of an obligation, now that we are 3 full generations of development beyond the last comparable versions, to be honest and say if this software is a viable product for the organization.
Riding the compatibility plugins, especially without definitive development timelines and goals, is not a business model, it's a bit of a "milking the money" situation. Let's just be open and honest here- if it's not a viable path, either in programming or financially, let it go. I for one, intend to continue to use other products from the developer, it's fine. The sooner there is clarity, the less of a reputation drag this becomes, and the quicker everyone can move forward, in confidence, knowing where this software is heading.
