Problem with Joomla 4.4.3 to Joomla 5.x Update

Dear team:
I have a problem with my site. It's currently on Joomla 4.4.3, and I need to upgrade to Joomla 5.x and then later to 6.x.

The issue is that I can't update from the Joomla Updates panel.
I thought it was a cache problem, but it isn't; after updating, everything is still the same.
I also thought it might be a problem... I've configured the update options to have the update server detect upcoming updates, but that hasn't worked either.

When I ask it to check for updates, I get this error:

Update: Could not open update site #1 "Joomla! Core", URL: https://update.joomla.org/core/sts/list_sts.xml:

I'm out of ideas. Could you help me solve this?

Something wrong with the database of your website, could you share the cPanel or access to database of your site?

And please take a backup first.
