I need to weigh in on this — not only because of the price increase, but also due to the new policy, which feels difficult to justify from a customer perspective.
I only require JomSocial and do not see the benefit of subscribing to or purchasing products that I neither use nor intend to use, such as Guru or Publisher. While I might have some interest in AdAgency or iSEO, these are not yet compatible with Joomla 6, so tying the price increase to them is hard to understand.
Bundling unrelated or currently incompatible products together can feel restrictive rather than beneficial. A more flexible model — individual pricing per product alongside optional bundle offers — might better serve different user needs, as many developers successfully do.
I had planned to renew this weekend, but under the current conditions I prefer to wait and see how this develops.
I fully appreciate the effort required to make JomSocial compatible with Joomla 6, and a reasonable price adjustment for that work is understandable. However, linking this adjustment to products that are either unwanted or not yet compatible may discourage long-term users rather than encourage renewals.
