The template itself doesn’t include a built-in payment/subscription system, but it can integrate easily with Joomla membership extensions like Membership Pro or Akeeba Subscriptions or others could be found here: https://extensions.joomla.org/tags/membership-subscriptions/
2/ I'd like to know if it's possible to have articles with only a portion (intro) visible to the general public and another portion reserved for paying subscribers
Yes, Joomla allows you to display only part of an article (intro) to the public and reserve the full content for registered or paying subscribers. When you integrate with membership extension, it will work.
3/ do you have a search engine that can search within PDF files for archives?
For searching within PDF files, Joomla’s core search doesn’t support that natively, but it can be achieved with an additional extension or a custom integration. You can seek for a suitable extension in above Joomla extensions directory.
