Guru on Joomla 5.4.0 and Guru Pro 6.2.4 Errors

Hi, I get errors when trying to add a new course or category. Existing courses/cat are ok. I reinstalled Guru Pro but no luck, the error persists. Any ideas? Thank you.

I can confirm that this issue occurs in Joomla 5.4.0. For now, please stay on version 5.3.4 until a compatible update is released.

Hi,
when will there be an updated version compatible with Joomla 5.4 or Joomla 6?

The last update of Guru 6.2.4 was 2 Dec 2024, that's quite a long time ago.

I didn't find any warning anywhere that we shouldn't update Joomla 5 because Guru might crash!

Works with joomla 5.3.* but crashes with joomla 5.4.0

Think Guru is realy dead. I was a GURU fan from the first hours of Guru, had translated the first versions, spendend a lot of money and worked a lot of years with it. Support was always excellent. But a Minimum of Updates. When I spend a one-year subscription then I wanted a min of one update in this time. At latest when a new Joomla Version come up and GURU does‘nt work with it.
But think, now it is time to look for alternatives

Yes, I feel the same way. I have alternatives ready just in case. I'm also a long-time Guru user, since before Joomlart took over. Well, anyway, I'll wait for the administrator's statement, hopefully they'll answer my question and we'll find out what the future of Guru will be.

Oooh no! I have added Guru Pro to an existing website and can not downgrade from 5.4.0 to 5.3.x - has anybody a good hint for me?

Deinstall Guru. Make a Backup, e.g. With Akeeba or make an export of the database. Then Install a new Joomla 5.3x. Install all <Extensions you need and Import the database sql.file..

Still no word from the administrators... Not very professional of them.
I'm going to start looking for another solution.
Has anyone tested or is using another component to replace Guru?

Hello

Guru is currently compatible only with Joomla 5.3.4. It’s not yet ready for the latest versions, Joomla 5.4 and Joomla 6.

Joomla 5.4 acts as a bridge to Joomla 6, which means there are significant updates. Our team is working on these updates, so please wait for the new version release before upgrading to Joomla 5.4 or Joomla 6.

I recently renewed my subscription and cannot use this as need it for Joomla version 5.4+ and eventually Joomla 6.

I thought a fix would be imminent as could see the issues were raised back in November. It has been a number of months now from what I can see without any fix.

What is the solution here?

If i can't use it then what is the point of me renewing my subscription? This is preventing me from going forward with our project development.

Can you tell us when we will have a safe working version for 5.4+ 6+
