It seems like you're using UIKit instead of Fontawesome?
I would imagine that you would include any assets like that in your component, since not everyone uses templates with those icons?
Anyway, I don't. I use Helix Ultimate, which DOES use Fontawesome, and I'd expect your component to work properly on it.
