Hi. I want to alter the Ja social share plugin to remove twitter and Facebook and add some other options like WhatsApp. Here is an image of the section. How do I make this change? When I select the social media I want under the "share services" options, nothing changes on the front end.

In the article view of this template, we embed the shortcode of JA Social Share plugin into this file:
/templates/ja_essence/html/com_content/article/default.php

You can look for this code:

<div class="ja-share-button" services="facebook,twitter,linkedin" layout="default" ></div>

Simply remove the facebook,twitter in services param and add the whatsapp service like this:

<div class="ja-share-button" services="whatsapp,linkedin" layout="default" ></div>

Here is full service list supported: facebook,messenger,linkedin,tumblr,whatsapp,twitter,reddit,telegram,line,livejournal,flipboard,instapaper,getpocket,hackernew,kooapp,yahoo,email

P/s: if you're using other article layouts, you can edit the same way in associated PHP file:
/templates/ja_essence/html/com_content/article/type-1.php /templates/ja_essence/html/com_content/article/type-2.php

Thank you saguaros ! Currently, the author avatar generates with the title. Can this be changed to generate the introduction image instead of the author avatar?

RobbyB Could you share the URL of that page? I guess that part is retrieving the avatar set for the author

RobbyB It will take the author avatar image set in backend of your site.

In case that there is no avatar set for an author, it will take this default image of T4: /media/t4/author/default.jpg , I think you can change this image to the one you like 😉
