Deprecated Meta Name

All Joomlart templates should be implementing this change!

<meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"> is deprecated. Please include <meta name="mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes">

My solution is to manually go in and remove "apple" to every meta name reference since this is deprecated and no longer being used.

- T3 Framework:
"[Template]/tpls/_blocks/head.php" file.

- T4 Framework:
"plugins/system/t4/themes/base/html/layouts/t4/index.php"

nexus6it It's going to be different for each JA Template, so I can't answer specifically.
I did a search to find all the files that used the deprecated meta names, and then made the changes.

Joomlart needs to come forward with their updates for all the templates. Too bad this wasn't addressed before they rolled out all the template updates for Joomla 5.2.4.

Except this is located in more than one place for each template.

I used Putty so I could telnet to my server and easily search for the meta name. Changes had to be made to 3+ files for each template as their were multiple locations referencing <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes">.

We put it in the head block of templates only, the location will depend on the framework that template is built with as we mentioned above: https://www.joomlart.com/forums/d/51179-deprecated-meta-name/3

You can easily override this file in template though 🙂

saguaros actually it's located in more places than that. As I mentioned, I did a search for the string of code and found it multiple locations with each of the templates I'm using.

Since it is deprecated, and has been for some time now, I see no reason to continue implementing it in Joomlart templates.

I have SSH access and search with this command all files:

grep -ri "apple-mobile-web-app" *

apple-deprecated-plugins-fix-overwrite-3-files-in-plugins-directory.zip

Just unpack and overwrite to plugin directory... Works only for T4

And you can override these core files of T4 in template:
