Using Joomla 5 and T4 Framework with purity IV template:
The user profile setup is working at display but there are a few issues:
In Frontend, neither in Create Account or Edit Profile forms, there are no fields for Avatar, User Position and Social Info. How the user is suppose to fully create/update/manage his own profile?
In backend, those fields are present but this is an inconsistency: a user should ask an Administrator to make edits in User profile?
Second: The integration of T4 plugin with Joomla core User - Profile plugin is just half made.
- There are fields in User-Profile Plugin that are available in Joomla Core User Plugin config page but are not displayed in Frontend Author Page (City, Region, Country, Postal/ZIP Code, Phone, Website, Favourite Book )
- There are User fields Displayed in Frontend Author Page (avatar, user position, Social Info) that are not available in Frontend User profile edit/create.
At the bottom line this is a incomplete, tricky and feature crippled integration with Joomla core User Profile plugin.
Like someone integrated only some of the Joomla core plugin fields: "Address1" and "About Me", added some things (the "Avatar", Social Info" and "User Position") through some obscure/hidden override code without any documentation available, and created a half-and-half user profile feature that isn't managed properly, neither in native Joomla User Profile plugin, neither in T4 Framework. With functionality bugs (missing fields in frontend user edit page).
I may suggest to ditch the Joomla user profile plugin entirely since is missing critical requirements: Avatar and Social links. Please create a proper, standalone, T4 User profile plugin or a compatible third party user profile plugin starting from Joomla's example.
If you are doing that, it may be a good idea to create an file upload field for avatar. Do not rely on Joomla media manager to choose the profile picture. Is involving additional steps and I dont see any reason for allowing a new member to see the whole files from media management screen. By contrary, this may be a security flaw.
