Deprecated: strpos(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($haystack) of type string is deprecated in C:\laragon6\www\libraries\src\Helper\MediaHelper.php on line 495

Finding some deprecated tags throughout my site. Joomla 4.2.9 with the most recent Purity IV template built with the quickstart package. This is from the Joomlart Custom Module in section 1 under sub feature image section even though I do not have an image selected and never have. I also find it in section 8 in another ACM under client image.

I am running in the latest Laragon environment running PHP 8.1.10.

I will add to this ticket when I find other occurrences.

Any direction would be appreciated so I can finish this site.

Hi Doug,

It's weird that it notices the deprecated functions in core file of Joomla, not files in our template. I don't see the same notice in my local, could you try with PHP 8.0 and see how it goes?

The deprecated error disappears when I use PHP version 8.0.28 as opposed to version 8.1.10.

dougj I checked Joomla 4.2.9 with PHP 8.1 on my local site but it worked fine. It seems issue with your site specific, could you use PHP 8.0 for now?

I too have this error on line 495, with:

xampp-8.1.12-0-VS16 (Apache 2.4.54)
PHP 8.1.12
Joomla 4.2.9
Database 10.4.27-MariaDB

I'm migrating more than one site to 8.1 and now I'm running on XAMPP only for testing.
But I point out that PHP 8.2 is already available and the suggestion to still maintain 8.0 I don't know how long is still acceptable.

How did you install template? using Quickstart package or installing Joomla + then install template manually?

I'm only installing the quickstarts and I haven't made a single change in any of the templates and in general in the websites installed with the quickstarts.
There are several bugs here and there, it seems most were only tested with 8.0 and then never again.

I just installed quickstart package of Purity IV template with PHP 8.1 but there is not that deprecate message, may I know which page in your site that this message appears?
