When Joomla cache is enabled Magazine layout outputs Serialization of 'Closure' is not allowed error. Other templates don't seem to have this problem.

It's a known issue in Joomla 4 with cache option enabled.
You can temporarily go to Advanced settings in Articles Category / Articles Categories modules and disable cache there:
