Unable to create tags

Save failed with the following error: TagsTableTag::_getNode(1, ) failed.

I cant create/save a tag either in an article or from the tag component. This is important to this site. Please advise.

3.8.10 fresh install - first standard joomla install then standard template install, not quickstart. PHP 7.0. Comodo SSL. Nothing modded.

This is something wrong with your joomla installation not related to the ja fit template- a mysql table was not correctly created, you can repair it via phpmyadmin executing a sql query as showed HERE
