Change masthead image per page

I would like to have a different masthead parallax image for articles in each of the categories. But right now the only way I see to make this happen is to modify a template style. But when I change one style, it changes all the styles to the same image in the masthead. How do I make this change based on article category?

I hope you can understand my dilemma. I just want a different masthead of my own choosing based on the article category.

If you want different image, either you need to duplicate template style to have different layout assigned for different pages. Or you can use JA Masthead Module and install it.
Module will give option to add image and details for each menu item. Please note module will use its own style to display the Masthead, that can be slight different in terms of style.

I tried duplicating or cloning a template style I was using for a given article category, but when I made a change in the new template style, it also changed the original template style. This is what confused me. Can you please walk me through duplicating a template style? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong then. Thank you.

I just tried to modify the image in the position "masthead" and when I changed it in the template style "ja_landscape-Projects and Services (4)" which I created by copying the original template style, I selected the menu items this style would apply to. However, when I checked the website, it changed ALL pages that used the masthead position. This is where I am confused as to what I'm doing wrong.

I've watched the videos, read the tutorials, even though they are for T3, not T4, and still cannot get it to work correctly. I've given up. I don't understand how making a copy of a template style, modifying a feature on one style changes it on all the styles. I'm looking for another extension that will give me the paralax feature.

For duplicate template style https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-templates/ja-landscape#layout-config
just select the template style and click on duplicate as in the documentation above.
Make a copy of the layout from Layout tab > click copy icon and it will make duplicate layout that you can use in other template style.

Please note if you want to change it for 1 page thats is fine but if you have multiple page on which you want to use different masthead images you should use JA Masthead module.

Now I understand about making copies of a template style. I was making a copy of the same template, and now realize I should have made a copy of the layout, inside a style. Live and learn!

I did find an extension for parallax to use in the Masthead module position, which is what I wanted. Multiples of a Masthead module is much easier to manage than multiple template layouts.
