pankaj, in another thread titled "Registration form fields" you asked me to create a separate thread, so here it is.
I initially wrote:
pankaj, this thread helped understand the Custom Fields, especially the article referred to [https://www.ijoomla.com/blog/joomla-lms-extension-guru-5-1-18-custom-fields-explained/] - no problem setting it up, but is it possible to have the field visible but not editable by the teacher (i.e. admin edit only)?
Also, I'm somewhat confused by the statement in the Custom Fields Registration element (in backend), under [Teachers] [Settings] :
"You can use in Guru Teacher Registration page new custom fields. For this you need to create custom Field Groups and custom Fields from Joomla Users pages and all these new Groups and Fields will be listed in this page. You can select which custom fields will be used for Teacher Registration page.
The selected Fields will be available in front-end for Teacher Registration page and Teacher Profile page."
Has it changed since this thread, or what is it I'm not getting? I tried doing that and I couldn't make it work.
Please open a new thread for your own topic so there you can add the site details as well.
Custom fields can be edited via admin side only as there is no option to add them via frontend.
My reply is now:
I understand the Custom fields cannot be created in the frontend, but the data field can be changed in the frontend. What I need is a custom field created and populated in the backend, but only visible (not editable) in the teacher's front end.
