Wasted Space in Masthead

How do you get rid of the wasted space between the modules especially all that wasted space in masthead?

GUYS PLEASE that is the most valuable webspace on any site and you WASTE so much of it with excessive paddings. Why would you put a 72px and a 96px padding on top? 4px MAX on vertical padding guys.

BTW the masthead module doesn't show different assigned pictures for the image, only the default one in the template image folder bg-masthead.jpg Regardless of what you do.

I have been a customer for years and have yet to figure out how to properly change, permanently, the pixel settings in the css sheets.

ALL I want to know is a step by step procedure. A simple one that says step one Place template in development mode or whatever.
Step two alter, copy or do whatever to this css in this folder. Then when finished copy or do whatever css to this folder. Compile less to css etc.

I really like your stuff guys... but your support and documentation are about the worst ones I have to deal with on a daily basis. Granted I hardly do because I now hardly ever put T3 in. Until you guys get your documentation act together, create a real help support system with a knowledge base and ticket system, I'm not going to install any T3 unless client demands it. So far... only one demand from a client for T3... and we talked him out of it and didn't install it. Someday you'll figure out that you could hire someone just to respond to my requests alone and make about 100k a year. But stick with your tried and proven NOT to work message boards. See you in about 6 months when I need to renew my own license... I'll be giving it careful consideration and right now. Can't really justify spending another dime on Message Board Support technology from 1997.

We already provided long time ago a support guide for the Ja Masthead module at THIS URL Also on old forum there are hundreds of posts which argument is related to the JA Masthead configuration in various scenarios and solutions proposed by various moderators or support staff -

looking at them if documentation is not enough could help a lot.

The layout structure has been designed with more of whitespace to bring visual clarity and balance to the layout, henceforth creating visual consistency for the site visitors 🙂

You may also kindly refer to this blog and this emphasizing as to why whitespace is preferred and valuable for layouts in modern era, primarily for visual appearence for site visitors

Herewith addressing your queries precisely, If you wish to decrease the padding for the homepage, Try add this to custom.css file and adjust value accordingly:

.ja-search{padding:20px 0 !important;}

For other pages, You can add this and adjust value accordingly :

.div.t3-masthead .ja-masthead-detail{padding:20px 0 !important;}

Can you please elaborate exactly with direct link where you have tried changing the bg-image which isnt reflecting as envisaged

Perfect example. The Doc navigation in the sidebar looks fancy... has no substance but sure looks fancy. And you want me to search a message board with thousands of possibilities from mostly unqualified hackers to find my answer. Right... see you later on that one since I have never found an answer that way without spending hours searching and I usually just figure it out myself.

BTW in the USA we have this thing called HIPPA. Which means you can't have administrative access to our backend because you would then have access to sensitive personal information which is against the law here.

The documentation link is for a different template and does not explain how to modify the css. it tells me how to install and set configurations... which I can do in my sleep.

So this link is pretty much worthless.

Even in the documentation you are not consistent, in this link the position is Masshead yet, this is the Masthead module and it goes in the masthead position... with a 'T' not the masshead.

Have a nice day. I've wasted enough time beating my head against the wall. Let me know when you get a real tech support system up and running with a knowledge base that has substance and a real ticket system.

P.S. I don't care how fancy your doc navigation module looks in the sidebar... to me it's just wasting space.
