T4 Blank Template Installer Error

Error encountered in Joomla Updater ... when updating from beta2 to RC.
"Error updating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_."
Update path does not exist.

Hi,

If you did not customize core file of template, you can install it manually via 'Install' tab.

FYI: the stable version will be released pretty soon (tomorrow or maybe the day after that), you can wait for this stable release.

And then, we recommend to update new version for JA's products via JA Extension manager component (a free component) instead of updating via Joomla updater.

I already did install it manually - I was not asking for support.
If you are going to no longer support the Joomla Installer and require users to use only JA's extension manager in order to have an error-free update, that's a bold choice. I'm not sure you can count on users to do that, plus it's not the Joomla way. I suggest instead that the bug report be forwarded to the team that put this out for RC testing so they can consider debugging it before final release. After all, isn't that the whole point of beta and RC Testing? To get exactly this kind of feedback for the dev. team?

duke3d Hi. The only reason we are suggesting to use JA Extension Manager is because of issues which we have came across in Joomla4. It has already been reported, but we haven't heard about a fix to it yet. Your report was passed to our developers.

Got it - My context is J3.11 - not testing too many moving parts at once. :-)

We suggest to use JAEM because the good features that provides such as you can view / compare the changes between current version and new version, you can even rollback after updating new version. These features are not available in default Joomla.

saguaros I understand the advantages of using JAEM, but isn't the goal of an RC Testing period to have users try all the permutations of ways a user might use or predictably misuse a product? Don't you truly want people testing using the Joomla Installer, especially since many will be finding the product using Joomla's install from web or by responding to the Extension Updates prompt in the Control Panel?

If you don't want bug reports from any install process other than JAEM, fine. If you don't care, why should I? I won't waste any more of my time posting unwanted bug reports. Sorry to have interrupted your progress.

I'm sorry if there was misunderstanding here, we always welcome and appreciate all of feedbacks from customers. This update process we recommended for a long time, for all JA 's products including previous versions of T3 and new T4 also.

I will share this with our T4 team also.
