Back to category Button on product page Issue

when we click the shop button and from JA Megafilters select a category
then we click one of the product on right
on the product page there appears a link (Back to category) button e.g. back to Desktops as shown here https://prnt.sc/oo03t2

Issue is that this button does not go back to the SHOP->JAMegafilters selected category, instead it opens virtuemart page of that category and missing the JAMegafilters on the left side as well as no category navigation links (like those shown in URL of this post with JAMegafilters navigation) are all missing...

This gives users having to click the shop menu again and select the category they were in, which in turn causes lot of nuisance for browsing again and again from menu, instead of simply using the "Back to category" button

How can we resolve this?

Hi,

That back to category link is core feature of Virtuemart, it will redirect to menu item of that category page in Virtuemart. It's not button of JA Megafilter.

warylad Hi. I would propose to change that with javascript. Please try add this in template's custom javascript code:

Secondly how to erase the default Back to category button specified above?

How can we replace the default (which is nagging one) and place this one in place of that?

Hi,

The idea of teitbite here is that when you add above script, it will redirect back to the filter page when you click the back to category link.

You can add into the file: /templates/ja_mixstore/js/script.js in the end of this file:

saguaros But the problem is the Back to category link of VM does not mix well with JAMetafilter based JA Mix store's demo pages navigation, as it is a nuisance finding yourself in VM product page instead of a template designed page, it practically yields a bad customer experience as two very different pages are mixed together because of this link.

i want users / visitors to stay on template designed page(s) and not go to the VM product page, can you do something about it? IMHO there should be a template designed page for product display, and this stated link should be replaced on that page...

warylad Hi. It doesn;t matter. My script will not link to megafilter or virtuemart. It will simply check last visited page and open it when clicked.

warylad Hi.

In template's settings You have a place to put any custom code, any of those places is good, but You will have to wrap it with <script></script> tags.
To hide this button add this script to custom.css file:

.back-to-category { display: none; }
