Template Update Overwrites Custom

I'm needing some clarification. I recently update JA Fit for a client. I had made a modification of the ACM module but those changes were overwritten when I updated the template. When I look at the template files I do not see ACM as an option. Am I looking in the wrong location?

aman204 Just to update. I finally found the module. I was looking for acm and not ja-acm. With that said, when I copy/create an override Joomla is warning me of the following:

Successfully created the override.

When I created an override for the Footer I don't get the errors.

Is this an issue that is causing my confusion?

This is a joomla core feature, create override has nothing to do with module itself, if you are having this error message it is because the folder has not correct permissions or user has not this faculty.

You should verify this on your hosted space configuration.

You already have the template override of JACM styles in-built which have been styled and customized specifically for JA Fit so there wont be need to create template override again

To view the template folder structure, Please view documentation excerpt wherein, ACM folder can be seen under \templates\ja_fit parent folder

Right approach to isolate template customizations
1) Copy the acm folder from here - \templates\ja_fit\acm
2) Paste the folder above to \templates\ja_fit\local which will be \templates\ja_fit\local\acm then using similar instructions as outlined here [Create local folder if doesnt exist]
3) Thereafter, You may make relative changes in specific isolated files in ACM style folders seen under \templates\ja_fit\local\acm for specific style, as needed

Hope this helps in deriving the purpose as envisaged due to salient feature, Template isolate functionality through T3 framework provides 🙂
