Missing templates and can't save modules

I had some help in getting some PHP stuff done, and things worked fine. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with why I now can't update, change, or create new modules. A new module won't save, and existing modules I attempt to modify do not accept the new changes and goes to locked instead.

After much research online, I found that I was missing the Isis template. I attempted to install it, but it wouldn't install either. I know I also tried to sftp the templates, but persmission was denied. I can only guess that something in the Jomsocial, Publisher Pro, Guru, or AdAgency (as that was the last issue prior to this issue) is tying up the bootstrap, and I don't know how to get around that.

DragAuth You can try to reinstall Joomla Core files as also suggested here ensuring to take backup of your site before performing aforesaid steps, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c

This has been the usual way for installing ISIS template as also suggested here so you can retry the same

Isis is Joomla template and saving module in Joomla can be any issue, either permission or the admin template has problem. The extension does not create issue in module save, as we have large users using the extension without issue.
I suggest you to switch to the Hathor default Joomla template and see the issue.

To re install isis template you can use this procedure :

set hathor as default admin template
Uninstall isis template from Extension > manager
download latest Joomla and make a zip from isis template from /administrator/templates.
Install the zip and make the template as default.
take a full backup of site before apply above steps.

I have been able to find and use the Isis template. I've tried all the other templates, as explained in the article. I acually found that article prior to messaging for assistance, but it didn't work.

Still not able to save changes in modules. Still locks out the module item. I've cleared the cache, checked the database for warnings, still finding not solution to this issue. Can you think of anything else that would cause modules to not save new changes?

Probably, The suggestions provided here could be of help although I have already provided two of given suggestions for troubleshooting purposes. As apparently seen, The error relates to Joomla core files/template

I tried to uninstall the Isis template as you stated and received the following error, it's an inaccesable file.

As well, modules still don't save under any of the administrator templates. I even installed the JA_Admin template, no avial.

It look like there is permission issue on the administrator folder that not writable and does not allow any changes.
I suggest you to check permission issue
Also suggest you to open the topic on Joomla forum here as its something wrong in your Joomla during updates.

Okay, I'll look into that as well. I did get assistance on a PHP problem, and now there is a component that I didn't install called "My PHP Joomla." Would this have any bearing on the this change? I'm unfamiliar with this program so I'm not touching it, but I didn't have this permission issue prior to this being installed.

it should not make issue, its used to access DB tables, you can remove it from Extensions > manager > select and uninstall.
