Hi anyone who has any experience solving the CUSTOM-HTML module editing on FRONT END, PLEASE help.
We are using the Quark (RESTAURANT) version (the template comes with 3 versions, "Restuarant" is the one in reference - NOT "STEAKHOUSE" - Steakhouse is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TEMPLATE).
We do not want to "simply workaround" by paying $120 extra dollars for "Ark Editor" which may be great but this is a BUILT IN function of Joomla and we are already paying JoomlaArt & Gavick for premium extensions - This feature should be working right out of the box, without the need to "pay for a workaround." Plus, we should not be required to load bulky packages that install 50+ extra plugins for features that we may or may not need - We are looking for the PROBLEM so we can fix it).
From what we have seen there exist code-hacks for "T3" issues etc, but we don't see "T3" anywhere in the extensions manager so we don't know if T3-hack even applies to us.
Situation: When logged in on front side, we see the "Edit-Button" at the module locations, but when we click it,
- THE PAGE ONLY RELOADS, and NO EDIT SCREEN APPEARS.
That's it.
We have experimented loading a "Template Switcher" module on the front end, and have noticed that if we "Switch Templates" IMMEDIATELY after clicking the Edit-Module-Button,
THEN we see the edit screen for the module.
The problem obviously, is this is a weird hack that distrupts the flow of work, and everyone needs to be taught this process when it's unnecessary, AND - The module itself is buggy and does not switch back to the original template unless the user clears their cookies.
So something is preventing the editing screen from being visible when the QUARK: RESTAURANT version is visible.
We need this to work.
Thank you for your insights into known issues. We want to figure this out before handing over log-in credentials when this issue needs to be fixed universally, for all template-owners.
We appreciate your insights.
