    Modules positions not working

I am a beginner. For some years, I have had my main website www.bgs.org.uk running on Purity for Joomla 1.5 and I want to have this format (Left Column) Main Body (Right Column) on my new related website which I am developing on Purity II for Joomla 2.5. However, I can't get the modules to appear in the correct position. Please see: www.bgsevents.org. At the moment, "What's new" is listed in position RIGHT but it appears in the left column. My Login Form is positioned in the LEFT but appears at the bottom of the main block and I can't get any module to appear in the right column, no matter what position I assign to it. PLEASE help a beginner.

Old website which has correct format: www.bgs.org.uk
    New website which just won't co-operate: www.bgsevents.org

So that I may best try to assist you and provide you with concise guidance as to what you need to do within your template/site structure, please set "Optimize CSS" to "No" within your Template Manager--General Settings

Thank you, Tom. I'm going to try one more thing and then I'll do as you have instructed. It may well be that when I downloaded Purity II, I missed some elements. I am going to do a fresh re-load and I'll come back to this thread if I still can't get things working.

    Best wishes

    Dear Tom and other guru's
Further to my problem mentioned in the original post on this thread, a fresh install of the Purity template has not solved my problem and I seem to be going around in circles. So...the original problem: Using the Right-Main-Left layout, I can get modules to show up in the left column, but modules assigned to the right column end up squashed into a narrow area at the bottom of the main block. Interestingly, I've tried the website on a couple of other templates, and the same problem persists, despite all my other websites working as they are supposed to.

    To re-cap:
Main website: www.bgs.org.uk (Joomla 1.5) - works as it should
Related website: www.bgsnet.org.uk (Joomla 1.5) - works as it should
Different site: eugms.org (Joomla 2.5) on Business5 template - works as it should
Related to main website: www.bgsevents.org (Joomla 2.5) - can't get the left-main-right (or right-main-left) format to show three columns. The right column modules always appear squashed into a narrow area at the bottom of the main block.

I'd be pleased to hear your views.

    Dear all
And finally, I got the website to work. Trouble is, I don't know how or why, so I'd still be pleased to hear from anybody having similar problems to my own if they feel they have the time.

    Best wishes to all.

I have the same issue as described above with the most recent JA Purity II and Joomla 2.5. left and right are opposite and top appears just above the footer.

I am also having trouble getting the random images to display correctly

And... it loooks like nothing will work unless I open the template confiiguration page and save it. This just to get any changes accepted.

Not sure what is going on. any help most gratefully accepted.

    Hi snaggltoof,

Your layout was broken and the cause can be your contents (article contents at the main area ) I guess one of your content is containing mess html tags (missing open or close tags) you can check again them
@joec : you should post here your url where those issues can be seen, also let us know which extension (module) is the problem

    Hi joec,
I took a look at your site http://www.cowsfc.com.au/ and to me it's hard to see the mentioned problem, could you attach here a screenshot ?
