FTP For Joomla

Hey all

Just thought i'd share somthing I've been using for quite a while now.

I know most people here might use an ftp program when uploading files etc to their joomla site (i'm not talking about components or modules) - more like images and other things, so I thought I use something called eXtplorer - which comes in really handy for me.

eXtplorer is an ftp system which you install in the backend of joomla - it then turns your administration panel (when selected from your components of course) into an ftp program. You can then directly from your joomla backend ftp anything you want to your file and folder structure to where your site is installed.

I think a lot use this already, also JoomlaXplorer.... But good to mention it. JoomlaXplorer I always use when I have to set some permissions right and my FTP does not have the sufficient rights to do so, For any other purpose, I personally think, FTP goes faster and easier, probably SSH will be the best solution when you have an own vServer or Server.


Dumb question: Do you know your name is same as some herb that is used to make Ouzo, the famous Greek liquor. Or also some french schnaps... Is that because you love schnaps? Like a whisky lover choses the username "whiskylover" or "simple_dimple"? Or "wine_enthusiast"? I personally drink very rarely, so I couldn't say I am a schnapslover, but I really like some italian liquors and especially the asian ones, some more sweet, are very nice drinks. Some years ago, I had some 1992 Rothschild White Wine and as usually, this appears to be the best wine I ever had, although it was no Lafite Rothschild, but, let's stop this topic, I wish you much fun here!!!
