The ja-teline news component allows for news articles to be posted on a site. Are there any copyright issues with this if I post articles form fox, cnn, new york times, etc.

That you would have to check with each individual website you would be posting news items from. CNN might have different options than BBC and so on. You would have to contact or check the websites of each respective news company/paper..

I think it will depend mainly on what country you have the hosting at and your home country if they are not the same. Some countries have specific laws on web content, of course child porn, porn of any kind is banned and unacceptable in general , so feeds have to be monitored? also any defamatory comments on religion, race, disability as a group etc is not allowed that is while you can put a disclaimer saying the views etc of this site are not the same as the news feeds I'm not sure if it came to a court in certain areas you are covered?
I think you get my train of thought?
My 2 cents worth
