JPG upload: Invalid Image Type

When uploading jpgs with JA Submit, I am getting the following error: Error: Invalid Image Type. I am using JA Submit 2.1 on Joomla 1.0.10. Uploading items with PNG and GIF pictures work. The server is running PHP 5.1.4, with GD Version 2.0.28. Addtionally, the security images function isn't working - the text instructions appear, but the image doesn't. Any ideas?

is there anyway to solve this with out change the JPG to jpg? Because i open to public post the latest news, they might not know how to change the JPG to jpg

Probably too late for the original poster but may help others searching this Forum.

In the backend configuration page add JPG (and perhaps also JPEG,jpeg if your users will have these extensions as well) to the list of permitted extensions.
