Extra module positions in JA Teline

I'm thinking about using this template. It looks great, but it has one problem for my site. I would need to have room for banners on top and on the right.

My question is would it be possible to easily create more module positions that allow banners on top of the page and on the right, so the site would have the advertising possibilities of www.popmatters.com or www.meteli.net
